Strickland's Kennels specializes in training hunting retrievers, training for hunt tests and obedience training. We offer a variety of retrievers and services, including education of the owner and handler.
We tailor our programs to fit each individual dog and owner's needs. Whether you are looking for a started dog, an advanced hunting dog or a polished hunt test competitor, we have the right program for your dog. Strickland's Kennels has access to over 2,000 acres of training grounds both public and private that allow us to make your dog a true Master Hunter.
Strickland's Kennels Basic Obedience program lasts for two months. Our Associate trainer Ted Hearod is in charge of all obedience training only. In those two months we will teach your dog to sit, stay, return upon command, stop and sit upon the return if so commanded, lay down, not jump, heel on & off leash, be quiet, kennel on command and load into a vehicle.
Our Gun Dog program has been shift to started dogs only. Strickland's Kennels associate trainers Josh Batchelor is now in charge of all the gun dog training. He trains retrievers on obedience, force fetching, collar conditioning, basic hand signals and basic retrieving skills.
Training at Strickland's Kennels cost $500.00 per month; this fee covers training, food, heart wormer preventative, flea & tick control, birds, and kenneling. Owners are asked to pay any and all veterinary cost, entry fees for hunt test or field trial, and a handling expense of $75.00 per test or trial.
Basic Obedience Training is $450.00 per month for two months. Owners are required to furnish a two month supply of heart wormer & flea & tick control.
