Here at Strickland's Kennels we don't just chase waterfowl. I took out one of my best friend's, Hodge Jordan and a fine young man Bear Stevenson, turkey hunting. Bear made his first kill ever with a bow a great one! He got his first turkey. Hodge also got a great first. He took his first wild hog with a bow at 52 yards!
My oldest son Dylan and I went out with my good friend shown above, Hodge Jordan, to his farm in Clarksville, TN turkey hunting in April 2011. This wasn't Dylan's first time out turkey hunting but as you can see it was the first time he was able to seal the deal. And he did in a very BIG way. Dylan's first turkey was a whopping 24lbs!! The bird was not only big but it also came with dual 11 inch beards. The spurs on its legs were 1 1/4 inches long. He made a perfect shot at 28 yards, with a 20ga. shotgun.
