Breeding at Strickland's Kennels
Strickland’s Kennels takes pride in over 17 years of retriever breeding. We focus on producing quality hunting dogs and superior hunt test or field trial dogs. With clients throughout the North Carolina, the dogs we breed have become known for their outstanding temperament and trainability. All dogs are bred with a gentle temperament, perfect for children, but without sacrificing an outstanding pedigree for hunting or field trial Champions.
Our breeding philosophy is to produce quality, sound, all-purpose retrievers, ranging from Chesapeake Bay and Labrador Retrievers. We strive to maintain good looks and to comply with the AKC Breed's Standards. But above all, our main goal focuses on the creation of well-rounded, hard working, loving and loyal companions for every owner.
Strickland's Kennels is planning to breed AKS's Batchelor's Smoking Tar MH "Tar" to Strickland's Kiss My Grits JH "Flo". Tar is an AKC Master titled retriever that is a hard running dog. Tar is also a wonderful hunting dog. I have personally shot a good number of birds over him. Flo is an AKC titled Junior Hunter. Flo is also a hard running dog that lives to work. Both dogs are have great pedigrees and are from field champion lines and great hunt test dogs. We anticipate this breeding to turn out dogs that will make excellent hunting dogs, hunt test & field trial dogs and personal companions. Tar is yellow factored and Flo is chocolate factored. We expect this litter to produce all black puppies; some of the puppies will be tri-factored.
